lace dress CLICK CLICK CLICK

I got this amazing lace dress the other day from Value Village for, wait for it...FIVE dollars. Yes, five bucks baby. I was impressed. Also, I was shocked that I found it on the "I don't want it, so put it back rack" outside the change rooms. I was like SCOOP, I'll take that. And so scoop, I did. Now it's mine. MINE MINE MINE. And I must say, it was love at first sight. And I am pretty positive it is handmade. So there is no one else out there loving the same dress as me. And I think that makes our relationship pretty special.

Also, the tag on it (from V.V.) said size 11/12. So that must be the section it originally came from (when the foolish, though perhaps wrongly sized, person grabbed it originally). So YES, that just goes to show, when thrifting really do venture out of your own size. Even when regular shopping one should look outside of one's size. I mean, after all, what do tags know? They're just inanimate scraps of fabric that stick out of the necks of clothing. I, on the other hand, am not inanimate. And I say: look outside your own size!

As for the AMAZING photos, they were taken by my sister-in-law Miss Q of Snappy Q. Her and her husband came to visit for the weekend (so if I have seemed a little absent...). And anyway, she has this totally awesome Nikon DSLR; that I didn't steal. But I did caress it; but I didn't lick it. But I did take pictures with it; but I didn't hide it before they left. But I did make it go CLICK CLICK CLICK.

And I have got to tell you that super fast CLICK CLICK CLICK is very satisfying. It's like bubble tape, or peeling that sticky glue stuff off of your credit card when it comes new (you know the stuff, sticks the card to the paper? Can be found other places as well?). I like that sticky stuff... I also really (REALLY!!!) like the camera.

In fact, I just may need one. My old point and shoot is starting to seem really obsolete. It's just begging to be tossed into the garbage (or donated, whatever). The only problem is, I don't know where I am going to find the cash for a DSLR.

So I may just have to engage in some sort of illegal activity. I'll let you know how it goes!

  5. The dress is B-E-A-UTIFUL! Such a great find - thank the person who put it on that rack, foolish as they may have been, for their dismissal allowed for your easy access and gain.

I also would like to participate in some illicit activities to get my hands on a super awesome camera. Shall we start pimping out hoes? I'm kidding. Sorta.

  9. It's gorgeous! I'm pretty jealous of it to be honest :D.

Also, I think you can find a good DSLR for not too much money if you look at the slightly older models! I got my Olympus E420 for about 300 euros, which is almost half as much as the new model (E620). Just look around, I'm sure you'll find something great :D.

  13. That white lace dress is totally fabulous... so beautiful. And I love the photo shoot. You look like a real model.

I agree with you, go venture outside the labeled size. Those labels tend to deceive people so I really try the items before I buy. Have a great week. xoxo

  25. Jenny, I don't know how else to contact you, but if you clicked to receive future comments on this post, you may get this.

I wanted to say if you were interested in using these images or linking this page to your website that would be a okay with me! I LOVE your shoes. They are seriously going to be the only shoes I buy now that I have discovered how wonderful they are!!

So many young girls completely disregard your brand and then complain about having to wear uncomfortable shoes all day! Which amazes me (I refuse to wear uncomfortable shoes!). But your shoes are so stylish and comfortable!

I love them. And I would love to help you promote them more. People are always commenting on my blog about how much they love this particular pair too! And I am always saying: buy them. They are so great!

  26. Kimberellie -- you completely just made my day... that's EXACTLY what we've been working at for the last few years, to really re-invent our shoes to be more stylish while extremely comfortable... and that we're NOT just "an old lady shoe store" anymore!

I'm definitely going to subscribe to future posts... you've got great style and your blog is a ton of fun to read!

With two children and a tendency to procrastinate, I don't often return comments. But I do appreciate them! So thank you!
