Ever have that sort of day-where nothing seems, right? Despite having more clothes than many department stores, I have those days. And of course the fix is always the same: shopping. So today I went shopping at the world's most overpriced thrift store: Value Village. I have no problem getting new clothes cheaper than this "thrift" store. Still. You can't knock the selection. You just have to be choosy is all.
8 dollar Gap t? No thank you. I'll get that NEW on clearance for LESS. But, uh, yeah, rant over.
Here's what I got: a chambray shirt (long enough to be a dress even on my tall kimbody), a pair of "boyfriend" jeans (really just boys jeans), and some black oxfords. Yes, I know what you're thinking: Kimberellie, must you go out and purchase every blogworld trend in one quick shop? (Not that the speed of the shopping trip has anything to do with it).
But my point is, yes, I realize how trendy black oxfords and chambray shirts are right now (bf jeans not so much, well, not to my knowledge anyway). Usually I am one to unconsciously buy trendy items and find out later that they're "in". But uh, yeah, this time I looked specifically for these items. I couldn't help myself. Y'all just look so good in chambray shirts and black oxfords. You MADE me want them. You did. You made me do it.
Though I think what struck me about these purchases is not so much that I consciously was looking for trendy clothes (I am not such a snob/liar to say I've never done such a thing before); but more so that these are NOT things I would normally even come close to wanting to wear. Yet I got them. And I like them. That's it ladies and gentlemen, due to overblogreading I am entering a new normal: I invite you to join me.

ReplyDeleteDo you remember that you entered my giveaway last month? Well, you won.
Could you please leave your email or somewhere I can contact you on my blog (I'll delete it after I read it)?
Thank you.
xx
I like the loopy knotted fabric necklace, cool and unique! You look lovely!
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are great, what fabulous finds! I hear you about blog-trend following. I think I look for trends based on what I see other bloggers wearing more than what I read in magazines. Seeing fashion on real people is so appealing, because everyone puts their own spin on so-called trends. I can't wait to see how you style up your new goodies!
ReplyDeleteI've done similar shopping. I see something on someone and I think it might look good on me too. I think whatever you get will look great on you. Can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit, by the way!
ReplyDeleteKimberley your blog is great! And I love this look and especially the necklace - awesome.
ReplyDeleteI totally get it. Since blogging and blog following/reading I find myself taking a lot more risks and dressing in much trendier combinations than before. Your finds sound great. I have been thinking about oxfords too. Hey, don't dis the bf jeans, I got a pair recently. I will actually wear them tomorrow. :)
