Mad as a Hatter

For some reason I keep thinking I look like Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter in this outfit. It must be the bow. Also, I think you all should know yesterday was my son's FIRST birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!

And the day before was his cousin's first birthday.

Yep. They were born twelve hours apart. We did this on purpose. We wanted to be pregnant at the same time. Only we never thought we'd get so close! My son was born at 1:19 am so they were thisclose to being born on the same day. I tried. I really tried. I remember looking at the clock thinking: wow, it's only ten. I can so do this. But after that there was no looking at the clock. But oh well. April 13th has a nice ring to it. Plus "Monday's child is fair of face". And I think he certainly is that!

Mondays child is fair of face,
Tuesdays child is full of grace,
Wednesdays child is full of woe,
Thursdays child has far to go,
Fridays child is loving and giving,
Saturdays child works hard for his living,
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

I was born on a Sunday. How about you? You can check here. I was really glad he wasn't born on a Wednesday. I kept praying: "Just not a Wednesday God! Any day but Wednesday!" Not that I believe there is anything to the poem. But I am silly this way. And it is fun. And who would want their child to be full of woe? Yuck. Though, if you are silly like me, the poem can be changed to: "Wednesday's child is all aglow". If you were born on a Wednesday, I recommend you now start thinking about yourself as all aglow.

outfit details:
blazer, rw & co.: $ 50

pants, winners: $5

top, a Christmas gift from my mother-in-law
shoes, naturalizer: $30
bow: the waist tie from a shirt

Heart: Kimberellie

ps. the book I threw across the room the other day because it made me angry due to being WAY TOO SAD, is Shanghai Girls by Lisa See. I eventually did finish it; and I thought it was very good. So I recommend it. Only I warn you: sad enough to throw across the room.

  2. Happy birthday to your little man. What a lucky guy with such a stylish Mama.
I can see the Mad Hatter influence, I love outfits that draw from things like that.
Also, I'm in love with your pant/shoe combination.

And happy birthday to your adorable little son! What a cutie!

I have two close friends who planned their kids at the same time on purpose as well. They ended up having their firstborns only 9 minutes apart! It's crazy how the world works, isn't it?

PS. I gave you an award on my blog! xo
