My friend Jenae Sterkenburg took these pictures. And it was great, because I asked, and she said: "sure". But then she realized I wanted them taken outside and she said: "but it's cold and I'm tired". So she watched my baby for me while I took my own photos (which did not turn out at all because it wasn't light enough out).
Upon returning to fetch my baby (who enjoyed etch-a-sketching and guitar-a-playing) she heard of my sorrows and offered to take the pictures after all. Even better, she edited them all super fancy so that the lighting would be right (she is the photoshop pro!). Suffice to say, this made me very happy!
You see, this pleased me muchly because this blog means a lot to me. It means a lot to me because it enables me to connect to other like minded individuals (ie. fashion obsessed individuals), and also because it is a creative outlet. As a mom-I'm the mom! (my baby says: "mumum", I say: "that's me! I'm the mum!")- it can be hard to be social. 7pm bedtimes can really be detrimental to your social life (as can going on random tangents about being the mum. I'm the mum!!).
Also, I paint. I write. Well, maybe, let's say: "I painted. I wrote." Because now I mostly stack blocks. Don't get me wrong, I still paint and write, just not as often; and it's not as easy. So this, this is kimcreative. Plus, even if it were easier to do those other things, I'd still blog. Because I like it. I like like like it.
I also like you. All of you. Whichever you you are. And especially YOU! I especially like you.

Oh, and about the outfit, right the outfit!! Well, I thought I would experiment with mixing patterns, because, well, everyone else is doing it. And there's nothing like the thrill of conforming.

ReplyDeleteAlso, I get what you mean about connecting with like-minded individuals. I wonder what I'd be like if it weren't for the internet :O.
Great outfit. You wear things I would never in a million years think to wear or put together but you make things beautiful. I love your explanation of the creative through your clothes and blogging. I understand the need for creative. At this space in life I don't have time (or room in my house) for scrapbooking, card making or crafts but planning my wedding definitely fills that need!

This look is so much fun! I love the print mixing, and how you tied it all together with dark accessories. And your pics always turn out so lovely. May I ask what kind of camera you use? I'm hoping to buy one in the next month or two, so I'm trying to get some ideas. Thank you :)
