Kid's Refurbished Play Kitchens

I want to make one of these:

Check out the before:

This kitchen was inspired by this kitchen:

After:

From Sutton Grace (a totally AWESOME blog)

And there's THIS kitchen:

From the Blog Come What May

And last, but not least (though smallest) THIS kitchen:

If you see anymore of these, let me know, because I would LOVE to add them here.  Yes, I have become a little obsessed.  But it's natural.  Hopefully pretty soon you will be seeing one I made.  Yes, you heard me.  I have refurbishing on the brain.

Wait a minute, during the writing of this entry, I found another:

After:

I told my husband it is a "lifelong dream" of mine to make a child's play kitchen.  He thought this was a funny lifelong dream.  And I suppose maybe it is.  But it is TRUE.  It really is a life long dream of mine to make a child's play kitchen!!!

PS. I am officially a slacker blogger.  I am sorry.  I blame it on pregnancy hormones.  And I wanted you all to know: I still keep up with your blogs (unless you don't have one, then I just spy on you the old fashioned way); but I am not commenting as much because I don't like sitting in the computer chair.  Though there are plans for a more comfyble chair.  So perhaps it will get better!

As always, much love, HEART: Kimberellie

Disclaimer: If any of these lovely kitchens are your creation (and your picture) and you don't like that I've put your picture up here, tell me, and I will take it down.  But I warn you, I might cry a little.  Because until the weather is nicer and I can start refurbishing my own kid's kitchen on the patio, the next best thing I can do is collect them here!  And isn't it a lovely collection?

  1. Ooh I had something very similar! My grandad made it for me and I absolutely loved it. I have a feeling he started from scratch rather than using a cabinet as a base but that is such a nifty idea!

  4. These are sooo cool. Love them. I will have to forward to my stepdad as he is an artist and a general contractor. What a great idea to re-use old cabinets to create such one of a kind toys for kids.

  6. This is so clever! You must get a more comfortable chair - or balance the computer on your belly as you lie in bed. We miss you Kimberellie! x

  10. Aah, these are awesome!! I'm pretty sure that if I would have had one of these when I was little I would have been the coolest girl on the block! I hope I can be cool and crafty and make something like this when I have a little one! Are you going to make one? Show us if you do!!

  11. You are so right. I NEED one for my two girls. But I have so many house projects going on at the moment... and hubby has a long list of things to make, he'll kill me if I ask him to do this. Maybe I'll give it a go myself?! I will look for a bedside drawer on the side of the road though. Can't wait to see how yours turn out though. They're so fantastic, why would anyone pay hundreds of dollars?
Oh and here's another one I found from a recent follower of my blog. It is AWESOME.

  19. I don't drop many responses, however after reading a few of the comments on "Kid's Refurbished
Play Kitchens". I actually do have a couple of questions for you if it's okay. Could it be just me or do some of the comments come across like they are coming from brain dead people? :-P And, if you are posting on other sites, I would like to follow everything new you have to post. Could you list of the complete urls of your social community sites like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?

  20. What you typed was very reasonable. However, what about this?
what if you composed a catchier post title? I ain't saying your content isn't good,
but what if you added a title to possibly get people's attention? I mean "Kid's Refurbished Play Kitchens" is kinda plain. You might look at Yahoo's home page and note how they write post headlines to grab viewers interested. You might add a related video or a related picture or two to grab readers interested about what you've got to say. In my opinion, it might bring your posts a little livelier.

  21. Hmm it seems like your blog ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I'm still new to the whole thing. Do you have any helpful hints for beginner blog writers? I'd certainly appreciate it.
