You would think it would be possible to have sidebars AND gigantic pictures. It probably is. But I don't know how to do it. I don't. Frick frick frick on a stick (LOVE that show). So I deleted all sorts of stuff that I liked having because I couldn't stand it all messing up the bottom of my blog. And it makes me sad. Mostly I want my blog rolls back.
If anyone could direct me to a template that would allow me to have bigger pics AND sidebars...please, do tell! I am so technologically inept. Frick frick frick on a stick.
Also, I quit. I am done. Blogging that is. For I don't know how long. I just don't want to anymore. Maybe I will be back in a month. Who knows? I don't know. Maybe I will back tomorrow. Who knows? I don't know. But blogging is making me angry. And I don't like being angry. When I am angry I throw things. And so my things don't like it when I am angry either.
As for my week of creativity? I was just sick the whole time. And my son was sick. So it didn't exactly work out. Frick frick frick on a stick.
Okay. I am done. For now. For a month. Until tomorrow. I really can't say. I'll post again when I want to. Until then I will be about spying on you. I will comment if I can persuade my fingers to type out the words on the keyboard.
I think it's Winter's fault. Stupid Winter. Stupid rain. Stupid dark at 4 pm. That isn't right. It isn't. Frick frick frick on a stick. Stupid stick. And I am not going to list my outfit details because I just don't care enough. Except the bag, I got it on Etsy. And I feel I ought to tell you from whom.

oh and the tights! they came in a parcel from the ever wonderful Lee!
grrrrr: Kimberellie (who may keep blogging because it is rather fun to complain).
ps. I vowed this morning to never complain again. I'm afraid my vows have a shelf life of half a day.
pps. I would really appreciate help with templates if anyone has a link to one that would work... I know I can make all my images smaller...and I would just do that. But I would hate to mess up all my archives.
We'll miss you. A lot. Love how the outfit starts all basic with a neutral tee than goes wild towards the end with the tights. I have the SAME purse in cream! Bought it when it was actually a new style!
ReplyDeleteNot sure my template is what you mean but I am able to post 'xlarge' photos and still keep my side stuff as long as the pics are vertical. Towards the end I do post xlarge horizantal photos cause the side bars end anyway. Check it out.
It makes me sad to know that you might not blog!! I always look forward to your posts...your hilarious writing style, your creative outfits...your cutie pie son...I will miss it all!! Please don't leave me!!
ReplyDeleteok... i don't think you should stop blogging. i mean do what makes you happy, but i've been reading your blog for awhile and i think it also makes you happy... i think you should just blog when you want and don't blog when you don't want to. you don't have to keep any kind of a schedule with it.
ReplyDeleteok, about the template... i used a basic one that was available when i first started my blog. since then blogger has changed the templates and the general layout making adjustments to your template... i'm afraid to do anything with it because i don't wanna mess up what i have! that being said, i like this layout... maybe you can find another place to put your blogroll... sorry couldn't be more helpful....
ok, hope to see you sooner than later... loving this modern twist of a classic look and silhouette :)

I know the feeling. I hope your break from blogging will be very short. Blogger's templates are awful -- years pass and they never update them. I don't know why that is. Wordpress is a lot better, maybe you could try that. Although I do like Blogger's community features a lot.
ReplyDeleteAww, we'll miss you and hope you will be back soon, but your happiness is definitely the most important =]
ReplyDeleteIf it is making you angry then don't do it. I love blogging, but sometimes it is also just another thing on the to do list... and when you are already a busy lady it can just be too much.
ReplyDeleteI used a simple template in blogger, and then went into the format section (or something) and just increased the width of the main page so I could post bigger pictures. Sorry, I can't remember what anything was called, but if you fool around with the different settings within the template you should be able to fix it. I also found this trick the other day on how to make your pictures even bigger, should you so desire

xx
If you need a blogging break take it, we'll be here waiting for your return.
ReplyDeleteBlogger wise, I miss about with the width etc on the html in little bits, going up in 5's just to see if it makes a difference.
xxxx
p.s I love your tights.
Have a break, it's your life do what you NEED and WANT. I agree with you 100%
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the template but I have fiddled with the width til I got it how I wanted.
Maybe you need a holiday to sunny, bright and lovely Australia! ;)

Break if you must, but know that I will miss you. Lots of people will miss you.
ReplyDeleteI hope you come back soon x
Stupid blogger templates.
ReplyDeleteIf you go to template designer you can widen the center column. You could on my template anyway, I use the standard one (Simple - one sidebar on the right in my case) with some modifications:
Go to Dashboard - Design - Template Designer
The Template Designer window opens
On the left side there is a menu: Choose Layout
A submenu appears right next to it: Choose Adjust width
If in doubt give me a shout :)
Before making changes to your template it 's best you save down your current settings so you can revert to them if things go awry:
To do this go to Dashboard - Design - Edit HTML (tab)
Check the Expand widget templates checkbox above the html window (on the right just atop it)
Then select all the html (you can use your mouse or just click into the window with the html and press Control + A on your keyboard.)
Then copy that stuff (You can do it with your mouse or click CONTROL + C)
Now open a simple text editor to drap that stuff into. (wordpad or notepad are best, word might mess up the code). Save that and if things go wrong you can return to this screen and replace the code with what you saved.
Oh I have no clue about templates but it looks like there's some v. good advice in the comments above so hopefully you can sort it all out.
ReplyDeleteIf you've not been well, I'm not surprised you feel like more of a break. Just don't go completely :(
Breaks are definitely necessary for maintaining sanity, but you will be missed! i love your posts!
ReplyDeleteI will miss you, your fantastic posts and your fabulous outfits!!! (like this one here)
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew what to tell you about templates, but I am totally clueless as well!!
I am having the exact same problems with my layout! Hope you have a nice break, and do what's best for you!
ReplyDeleteFrom Carys of La Ville Inconnue
I'll miss you, and I hope you feel like blogging again soon! But I definitely know what it's like to want to take a break now and then.
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you angry give it a break for a while. Blogging does tend to take over your life (well, it does mone. We'll miss you. xxx
ReplyDeletei wholeheartedly concur with bravegrrl's comments, as i believe it's basically 'bout bein' guided by your "wondrous inner spirit" as to what "comfortable, pleasant pattern" you might follow upon inspiration... --- definitely not feelin' compelled or sense of expectation in anyway to maintain any kinda set schedule.
ReplyDeletein jus' a lil' sharing back in return for some of your lovely shared quotes, this one here seems rather appropos for you in this instance:
“Among other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver.”
— Maya Angelou
...so seemingly with bravegrrl's lovely/loving words of wisdom..., followin' your own natural lovely/loving rhythms, and giving/sharing of yourself only when "spirit moves/guides..." --- would seem you could therefore really not go wrong, & all the while ever experiencing the "ongoing wondrous liberation & blossoming..." of your "truly beautiful soul," dear lady! :) xo
I like what you've done here with the blog re-vamping. It looks more clean and polished.
ReplyDeleteI hope you keep on blogging because you're so much fun and your outfits rock!

Absolutly you can put up a pic of me for that!! A flattering one preferably..haha
ReplyDeleteOh Kimberellie, I am sad! You are seriously one of my very favorites to read. Your posts never fail to make me smile. But, if blogging no longer makes you smile, then I totally understand why you're taking a break. It's supposed to be fun, so if it's not you need to step away for a little while. (Not forever though, please!)
ReplyDeleteAnd I feel the same way about evil, evil winter. I've been so crabby lately, and I think that's why. Anyway, I love your blog, I love your outfit, and I will miss you!!! And your cute baby pics too! And the frequency that you say "rufflebum" :)
I'm glad you decided to stay. I haven't been back for a few days and your last post caught me off guard. I didn't have time to panic, but still, I'm glad you're still here. We'll always be here for when you're ready.
